Founder ebookers.com
    Dinesh Dhamija

In 1980 Dinesh Dhamija founded the business that was to become ebookers.com, a leading pan-European online travel agency.  Dinesh built the company through considerable economic uncertainty, including the dotcom bust of 2001, September 11 and the first Iraq war.  In 2005, following listings on the NASDAQ, NEUER and LSE stock exchanges, ebookers was sold for £247m.

Dinesh has since founded the Copper Beech Group and Pearl Ridge Group to develop real estate and tourism in Romania, and Barrods Group for education and real estate in India.  He supports two charities in India, providing free education to 1,000 children and free medical care for 120,000 people a year.  Dinesh is a long-serving trustee of Scope and the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust.

Dinesh was named Management Today’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003.
