He is a passionate believer in the potential of mobile banking and payments to deliver long term benefits to the developing world and believes that Monitise will allow greater access to financial services globally. Prior to conceiving, financing and building Monitise, Alastair was a co-founder of epolitix.com, the network portal for Westminster, Whitehall and the devolved institutions. Alastair’s first business venture was the formation of a sports event and conference company in Malaysia. This followed an earlier career in professional rugby, playing at both club and international level.
